Consciousness is by definition what it means to be "human". Man-kinds previous pinnacle was the imimplantation f the tools and the ability to communicate basic ideas, not unlike what we see today in the primate world. At a point in time during the evolution of man the transition to "human" was made with the first thought of "Why?". What makes the sun rise? Why am I here? This is "Consciousness" a radradical ansition from animal behavior to enlightened species. To convey these thoughts precipitated the need for a more complex language and ultimately the ability of man to formulate theories as to the questions of "Why?". More to come. Consciousness as relative to Knowledge.
